An Artificial Natural
Archival pigment on Hahnemühle Photo Rag and Palo Duro Softgloss Rag, 17" x 22".
February 2016.

Exploring the idea of duality, I focused on artificial versus natural landscapes. Often we construct artificial scenes with fake foliage to replicate the natural beauty around us. I have taken the concept of Ikebana (Japanese floral arrangements) and constructed my own artificial version. Each arrangement is composed of artificial and real foliage, urging viewers to look closely at how authentic replicas are.
